"Jennifer Baker is known especially for her paintings of the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia. Her feel for the urban landscape, done in a direct, totally unique style, reflects her concerns for the often reckless process of change, and the human cost of redevelopment. Her website has much more.
The piece here, is a monotype,which came from my attendance at her extensive retrospective at the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art in 2019. She is an incredibly productive and active artist, creating not just individual works but installations, collaborations with dance companies, and has also given extensive time to alumni organization work for the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.-FD
