This is a portrait of Ben Kamihira, one of the great artists of our time. Behind him is a SIMULATION of one of his paintings. It is his work interpreted through my own sensibility as an artist, a task I undertook with a certain trepidation! Ben Kamihira was a teacher of mine at the Academy. In spite of the huge honors he was given in his life as an artist, he remained a man of tremendous grace and dignity, with whom conversation was always of great interest.
