"Man Vent System"

1970 oil 64" x 52" by F. Danziger

collection: private

This painting was done in my final year at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, in Philadelphia. It reflects my interest in the relationship between man and nature and technology. I had spent the Summer of 1969 touring Europe on a Cresson Scholarship with my wife Lill and other Academy students. We watched the moon landing on a television set, sitting in a Paris restaurant window facing the street. A crowd had gathered and they cheered "Les deux Americain sur la lune!" (or something like that!)
