"Morning Flight" 1996 Acrylic 44" x 50" by Fred Danziger

I had just flown in to Philadelphia from Los Angeles on the "red eye" and desperately needed a "bad for you breakfast." While enjoying same at the airport, I photographed a man by the window, looking out at the runways, and later did this painting from those pictures. I decided not to put any border images in this one, I suppose because it didn't seem to need them!

As the sun came up, orange light washed across the floor, the coffee steamed in my cup, the waitress teased the dishwasher, planes landed and took off. It was only an ordinary moment at the airport.
