Moody Blues
This series is simply about the physical act of painting-the pure joy of color and paint application. In the painting process, lighter glazes are overlaid with transparent slightly darker glazes, each deeper than the last. There are 15-20 transparent applications in each painting. Each layer is applied with a cloth, allowed to dry slightly, then gently rubbed again, removing some of the glazing color. These transparent glazes veil the hinted at forms and textures underneath, creating pictorial equivalents of mood. These veils of color are rich deep and meditative, evoking a quiet, lyrical experience.
